Embracing the Unexpected is open to those who have completed The Courage to Be or its equivalent, and continues the work, offering further practice in clowning with a focus on structure and relationship.
The more demanding aspects of this work come from a need to practice responsiveness to and awareness of your partner on stage, your audience, and the images, stories, and characters that emerge during improvisation.
Our work will be a step toward more advanced work such as Social Clowning and the Facilitators Training.

Limited to 12 participants. Please register early.

Angie Foster is on the team of Nose to Nose of North America clowning facilitators, where she has been leading workshops in the Philadelphia area. She is a professional actress and has performed on Broadway, off-Broadway, and in regional theatres.  She has been directing plays at Kimberton Waldorf High School for 13 years.  Her training includes the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Andre Gregory and the Manhattan Project, vocal work with Kristen Linklater, Gestalt therapy training, Spacial Dynamics with Jaimen McMillan, and 20 years of yoga.  This form of clowning combines her passion for improvisation and theatre and her quest for self-discovery.
Kristin Spaeth Crowley did not come to clowning by choice, but was forced into it by wiser others who knew where she belonged. Her work as a clown and facilitator led her to the fumbling discovery and recovery of a language she knows inwardly, loves, and could have lost. Her specialties include weeping, falling in love, making mischief, and the invisible.
She is interested in presences and possibilities. The mistakes she makes; the limitations she must overcome; the struggles she faces in being and becoming; the gifts she has been given; and her sense of wonder, reverence, and gratitude inform and guide her in her work with others.
She works with individuals, companies, institutions, agencies, and organizations. She still struggles and falls down.
